Winthropping as an Investigative Tool in Clandestine Grave Discovery and Psychological Profiling

Abstract Missing persons cases are some of the hardest investigations to solve. The lack forensic evidence impedes an investigation and critical time can be lost attempting find person or body. Recently, researchers have attempted develop new approaches help police in these types investigations. current paper continues research into Winthropping as a means assisting when searching for clandestine, hidden graves missing persons. A novel approach, using geocachers, inform processes is outlined, support gained through survey geocachers. findings then applied series real-world homicides, including several serial killers. Analyses gravesite locations killer matched many features properties outlined by results also indicate potential Keatley colleagues’ psychological profiling well geographical technique.
